Rising U.K. rock artist YUNGBLUD is the guest on the newest installment of the Lipps Service podcast, speaking with host Scott Lipps about his new single and upcoming EP in collaboration with Aerosmith and paying homage to Ozzy Osbourne at the Back to the Beginning concert in July just days before the Black Sabbath frontman’s death.
YUNGBLUD also gets into the realities of fame, living the rock’n’roll lifestyle on a 24/7 basis and the pushback he felt when releasing the nine-minute single “Hello, Heaven, Hello.” The episode concludes with a list of the top five albums he can’t live without and some musing on the perfect fantasy rock’n’roll supergroup.
YUNGBLUD and Aerosmith’s five-song EP, One More Time, will be released by Capitol on Nov. 21 and includes a new rendition of the latter’s 1976 favorite “Back in the Saddle.” The lead single, “My Only Angel,” is out now. The project constitutes Aerosmith’s first new music in 12 years.
On the previous episode of Lipps Service, the Molotovs’ sibling duo of Mathew and Issey Cartlidge discussed how being related impacts their dynamic, busking on London streets, topping the U.K. charts and sharing stages with legends such as Iggy Pop and the Sex Pistols’ Paul Cook.
Since it began in 2018, the acclaimed podcast has featured many of the biggest voices and personalities in music, including exclusive interviews with Anthony Kiedis, David Lee Roth, Hozier, Maynard James Keenan, the Police’s Stewart Copeland, Mick Fleetwood, Nikki Sixx, Dove Cameron, Perry Farrell, the Kills and many more.
