The hosts of SmartLess are not afraid to cut a guest off.

On the Jan. 26 episode of The Romesh Ranganathan Show, Will Arnett, who hosts SmartLess alongside Jason Bateman and Sean Hayes, revealed that the trio “recently” had a “very famous comedian” on the show but had to cut the interview short due to the comedian’s behavior.

Arnett called the unnamed comedian “a f—ing rank a–hole,” and promised to tell host Romesh Ranganathan who it was “after” they cut the cameras.

“We cut him off after 10 minutes and said, ‘Thanks so much,’ and ditched him,” Arnett, 55, revealed.

“And you’ll be blown away by who it is,” he said, before joking, “‘Cause you’ll be like, ‘How did you get Bill Cosby?'”

Also during the episode, Arnett revealed that another unnamed comedian asked for the trio to “not air” the episode she recorded.

“We were like, ‘F—, it cost us money and the guys, we all had to do it, and blah blah blah,'” Arnett said. “That comedian was worried ’cause she thought that she was up-and-coming. We were like, ‘You’re good.’ And turns out, we were right.”

Arnett’s revelations about the podcast he co-hosts with Bateman, 57, and Hayes, 55, came days before an episode featuring Charli xcx stirred up some drama online.

On the Feb. 2 episode of SmartLess, the singer discussed whether she wants to have kids in the future, and Bateman suggested her feelings might change when she meets the right person — without realizing Charli married her husband, George Daniel, last July.

“I actually don’t really want to have kids,” she said when Bateman asked if she’d want multiple kids or just one since she was an only child. She admitted, though, that her perspective “could change.”

When Bateman suggested that the singer could have a change of heart like his wife, Amanda Anka, did, things got awkward. “[Amanda] did not want to have kids, so the story goes,” Bateman said. “And she said once we started going out, she was like, ‘Okay, I think I can have a kid with this guy.’ So you might find somebody.”

“Well, I’m married,” Charli replied, and Bateman joked, “I’ve got to read a newspaper one of these days.”

“That’s okay,” the singer said. “I knew immediately where you were going to go and how I was going to respond, so I was looking forward to it.”

Bateman joked that Charli hadn’t “let [him] finish,” saying, “maybe your next husband, you’re gonna want to have kids with him.”
