Wet Leg’s sophomore album Moisturizer arrived back in July, and it’s just earned the British indie rockers a handful of Grammy nominations: Best Alternative Music Album, Best Album Cover, and Best Alternative Music Performance for album highlight “Mangetout.” Now, they’re saying they’re already done with their third album.
Wet Leg’s Rhian Teasdale and Josh Mobaraki spoke to Radio X’s John Kennedy this week to talk about the making of Moisturizer. At the end of the interview, host Kennedy began to ask about the band’s third record. Before he could finish his question, though, Teasdale chimed in: “It’s done.”
Kennedy then asked, “Where on earth did you find the time to do that?” to which Mobaraki answered, “Not on earth.” And that’s all we know for now. To be fair, right at the peak of the explosive buzz surrounding their self-titled debut back in 2022, Teasdale and Wet Leg bandmate Hester Chambers indicated they had completed their second album. But it was hard to tell whether or not they were joking, and it was a whole three years until we got LP2. Teasdale seems a bit more serious this time around, though. Watch the interview below.
