Watch Doja Cat Perform “Jealous Type” at 2025 MTV VMAs

Doja Cat gave “Jealous Type,” the lead single from her forthcoming album Vie, its live debut tonight at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards. She interrupted host LL Cool J’s opening speech with a pre-taped PSA, then launched into a rendition of the track that featured an ’80s-inspired set, dance breakdown, and period-accurate saxophone solo courtesy of Kenny G. Watch her performance below.

“Jealous Type” was nominated for Song of the Summer at tonight’s VMAs. Doja Cat also has a nod in the Best K-Pop category as a featured artist—alongside Raye—on “Born Again” by Blackpink’s Lisa. Earlier this year, the trio performed a tribute to the James Bond franchise at the 2025 Oscars.

Tonight marked Doja Cat’s third VMAs performance. In 2021, she made her main stage debut singing “Been Like This” and “You Right” while suspended in mid-air, and in 2023 delivered a medley of singles from her album Scarlet. Vie is out September 26.
