VPR’s Scheana Shay, Peter Madrigal Argue Over Loyalty to Lisa Vanderpump

VPR’s Scheana Shay, Peter Madrigal Argue Over Loyalty to Lisa Vanderpump

Scheana Shay‘s candid comments about her falling out with Lisa Vanderpump upset one of her former Vanderpump Rules costars.

After Shay, 40, spoke out about what led to her no longer being in contact with Vanderpump, 64, Peter Madrigal took to X on Thursday, July 24, writing, “I don’t like any old cast of VPR anymore. We do not talk.”

He continued: “The only person that I will still support is Lisa Vanderpump. She deserves respect and made us all famous from nothing. Certain people seemed to thrive on TV.”

Shay publicly reacted by sharing Madrigal’s quote, adding, “Sounds like someone got a phone call.”

She then followed it up with screengrabs from an alleged conversation between her and Madrigal where he asked her to appear on a podcast with him pegged to the release of her memoir, My Good Side.

“Crazy how quick things changed bc I wasn’t available for a podcast,” she captioned the screenshot, which showed her response to Madrigal: “My schedule is stacked until after book tour so I know I won’t be able to before then but if you want to talk [to my manager], hopefully we can set something up for after.”

Shay went on to defend herself from Bravo viewers who questioned why she didn’t make the time for Madrigal.

“BC I have a million other interviews already booked in the tiny amounts of free time I have,” she noted. “I’m landing in a diff city every day and straight into glam and then to my live shows. Also have my own to record. Shall I continue?”

Shay and Madrigal’s public back-and-forth comes after she spoke out about her issues with Vanderpump. Shay was initially asked about her current relationship with Vanderpump in April on the “Two T’s With a Pod” podcast, and she admitted, “I don’t talk to her too often. She usually calls when she needs something.”

After Kristen Doute hinted that Shay’s memoir contributed to the rift, Vanderpump was asked to weigh in on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen.

“[She spills tea] about me? Oh, good lord,” Vanderpump said in June. “Well, that is probably just to sell the book, because she doesn’t have anything else to say.”

Vanderpump continued, “I have heard she said something nasty that I only call her when I need something. True that. I have 600 people that work for me. I think the last time I needed her is when I invited her to my house for [my grandson] Teddy’s birthday. So that is the last time I called her.”

In My Good Side, which is out now, Shay accused Vanderpump of knowing more about the former SURver’s affair with Eddie Cibrian than she let on.

“We all saw it play out on the show when I went up to her and she acts shocked that I was working her party with this guy’s ex-wife who I used to date because I didn’t know he was married,” Shay exclusively told Us Weekly in a recent cover story interview, referring to the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills crossover scene between her and Brandi Glanville. “Up until about six months ago, that was the truth that I knew because that’s what she told me. Now, I feel like she low-key used my real-life pain to launch her TV empire — and what an empire she has.”

Shay added, “She gaslit me about it for a decade instead of just coming to me in the beginning. And that’s the thing with Lisa: She doesn’t make mistakes. She makes moves and then calls them coincidences.”

Vanderpump, for her part, waved off Shay’s claims.

“I don’t care what she says. How about that?” Vanderpump told TMZ on July 22. “I’m more concerned about Ozzy Osbourne dying today. That’s the saddest thing. Important things are what matter to me — not her bulls***.”
