The ‘90s gave us a lot — frosted tips, Tamagotchis, and Kelsey Grammer as Beast. Now, nearly two decades after first going blue and furry, he’s back.
On Wednesday, March 26, Marvel fans tuned in for a five-hour livestream that slowly revealed the cast of Avengers: Doomsday. A camera panned across rows of name-tagged director’s chairs, and when the 70-year-old Frasier star’s name popped up, the internet lost it.

“This stopped me in my tracks. That’s friggin EPIC,” one person wrote on Instagram.
“Kelsey is forever Beast,” another added.
“Frasier never looked so good ,” a third joked.
But not everyone was cheering.
“He’s 70. It’s time to move on from him,” one Reddit user wrote.
“Meh, I’m definitely ready for a new Beast,” another said.
Grammer made his Marvel debut as Hank McCoy in X-Men: The Last Stand back in 2006, then popped up for a surprise cameo in The Marvels nearly two decades later. Now, he’s officially suiting up for the MCU — likely voicing a CGI version more in line with the animated X-Men ’97 look.
After reappearing in 2023, the Cheers icon told TheWrap he was hopeful more Beast was on the way.
“It is my hope that you will [see him again],” Grammer said at the time. “I can say with a certain amount of confidence that you will. I would love to.”
In addition to the sitcom star, Avengers: Doomsday (which will hit theaters in May 2026) is bringing back a long list of fan favorites — including Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, and Channing Tatum — alongside Marvel regulars like Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, and Florence Pugh.
