Taylor Swift is the godmother of Jaime King’s 9-year-old son, Leo — but the celebrity friends have been estranged for “a long time.”

King’s friendship with the 35-year-old superstar “suffered because of the personal challenges” the Hart of Dixie alum, 45, has been going through “over the past few years,” a Page Six source shared in an article published on Thursday, April 3.
Though the once-close stars “haven’t been in touch for a long time,” King “misses Taylor,” the insider revealed, and wants to “reconnect at some point.”
“Jaime made Taylor her son’s godmother for a reason and she wants to continue that friendship,” the source told the outlet.
King made headlines last month after her ex-husband, Kyle Newman — who directed Swift’s “Style” and “Clean” music videos — was awarded sole physical custody of their children, according to documents obtained by People. (In addition to Leo, the former couple are also parents of 11-year-old son James.)
While the Sin City star has visitation rights to her kids, her visits must be supervised, per People, because King has allegedly not completed “a 6-month drug/alcohol program, with weekly testing, aftercare, and a 2-step program; a 26-week parenting program; individual counseling to address case issues; and conjoint counseling with minors.”
Swift, for her part, has previously gushed over her godparent role and how much Leo means to her.
During a stop on her 2015 world tour for 1989, the 14-time Grammy winner introduced her song “Never Grow Up” by recalling a sweet moment with her godson.
“I wrote [‘Never Grow Up’] when I was like 18 or 19 but my friend just had a baby and she made me godmother of it and I was holding this little baby the other night and I was just thinking differently,” Swift shared at the time.“When you’re holding onto something that’s so innocent and so perfect and has no idea what’s coming for it with the world.”
