Superheaven’s NJ Show Cut Short When Venue Floor Breaks


It appears nobody was injured when the floor caved in during Superheaven’s recent show at Williams Center in Rutherford. The grungy Pennsylvania band are currently touring in support of their first new album in a decade, and on Friday night they were playing their first New Jersey show since 2016, with openers White Reaper and the Virgos. I guess excitement was high, and a portion of the venue’s floor right in front of the stage started to break in the middle of the fourth song of Superheaven’s set (“Sponge”).

After fire marshals came to block off that broken portion of the floor, it looks like Superheaven did come back out for an “encore” of “Youngest Daughter.” Too bad they couldn’t play their hole set. See videos of the incident below.
