Reddit Announces New Ad Tools To Assist SMBs


As it continues to refine its ad tools, Reddit has announced some new updates, focused on SMBs, which will provide more ways to maximize your campaigns in the app.

First off, Reddit’s added a new campaign import function in Reddit Ads Manager, which will enable advertisers to import ad campaigns from Meta to Reddit in three steps.

As explained by Reddit:

“After securely signing into their Meta account in the Reddit Ads Manager, advertisers can select an ad account and campaign to import, then tweak their campaign to optimize performance for Reddit. This transforms existing high-performing ads into a Reddit marketing strategy.”

The option is available for awareness, traffic, engagement, leads, and app promotion objectives, and there are limitations on the full scope of data that can be transferred between platforms.

But essentially, the option will provide another way to simplify your Reddit ad campaign set-up, which could make it easier to get started in the app.

Reddit’s also added a new review page within Reddit Ads Manager which provides an overview of all of your campaign build details on one screen.

That’ll make it easier to catch out errors or inconsistencies:

“If anything looks incorrect, advertisers can navigate to the appropriate campaign, ad group, or ad from this new navigation and make edits directly before hitting publish.”

Reddit’s also announced a new Reddit Pixel integration with Google Tag Manager, which will make it easier to track campaign performance, while it’s also rolling out an enhanced “Events Overview” page in the Events Manager, in order to help advertisers verify event activity received via the Reddit Pixel or their Conversions API (CAPI) integration.

“This update provides a detailed breakdown of the conversion events advertisers are sending, making sure they are set up for success in running lower funnel campaigns and allowing them to easily identify any issues.”

The updates will provide more ways to measure and refine your Reddit campaigns, while also simplifying the initial creation process.

And it may well be worth considering. Over time, Reddit is becoming a key hub for actual, human insight, and a valuable tool for consumer discovery.

Which also extends to ads.

Indeed, a recent report conducted by Nielsen showed that Reddit ads helped retail advertisers achieve a $1.97 in return on ad spend (ROAS).

Based on this, the data shows that spending more on Reddit ads can drive better outcomes:

“Nielsen’s optimizer tool suggested that if category advertisers increase their spend by 24% on Reddit (if maintaining a flat overall budget) to take advantage of the platforms’ efficiency, total revenue increased by up to +11%.”

It may not feel like the natural home for ads, but Reddit has been working to improve its offerings, and become a better medium for delivering the right message, at the right time, to prospective audiences.
