Rapper Ca$h Out & Mom Stand Trial For Rape, Sex Trafficking Charges

Ca$h Out and his mother Mama Ca$h Out are now standing trial in Georgia for alleged sex trafficking and prostitution charges tied to a 2022 arrest.

Diddy is not the only rapper facing sex trafficking charges as rapper Ca$h Out and his mother are heading to trial in a Fulton County courtroom.

The Atlanta rapper, born John Michael Hakeem Gibson, and his mother, Linda Smith, known publicly as “Mama Ca$h Out,” are both accused of running a criminal enterprise that involved rape, trafficking and prostitution.

Prosecutors allege the pair used manipulation and coercion to force women into sex work between 2018 and 2021. The accusations include rape, racketeering, aggravated sodomy and enticing women into prostitution.

Ca$h Out was first arrested in March 2022, following a lengthy investigation by the Atlanta Police Department and the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office.

According to AllHipHop, authorities claim he used his celebrity status to lure women with promises of fame and financial gain.

The indictment also names his mother as a key figure in the alleged operation. Authorities say she helped manage the women and collect money from their activities.

The Fulton County District Attorney’s Office described the case as a “deeply disturbing” example of abuse of power and influence.

Investigators say the women were often isolated, threatened and financially controlled. The charges stem from incidents that allegedly occurred at multiple locations across the Atlanta area, including apartments and hotels.

Ca$h Out rose to fame in 2012 with the hit single “Cashin’ Out,” which peaked at No. 36 on the Billboard Hot 100.

He was later signed to Epic Records under the guidance of L.A. Reid and collaborated with artists such as Wale and Akon. Despite his early success, Ca$h Out’s career stalled in recent years. His legal troubles have now taken center stage.

The trial is expected to last several weeks. If convicted, both Ca$h Out and Smith could face decades in prison.

Their trial began Monday (June 2). Both have pleaded not guilty.
