Festival season is nearly upon us, and if you’re heading along to see Lady Gaga, Green Day and Charli XCX at Coachella this year, it may be worth checking in on Pinterest for the latest fashion trends.

Because according to Pinterest, it’s where many people now get their festival fashion inspiration.

As per Pinterest:

Searches for Coachella start spiking at the beginning of the year on Pinterest and nearly half of those searches are driven by Gen Z. This gives us an early peek into what trends are likely to pop this festival season.”

In line with this, Pinterest is partnering with Coachella once again this year, in order to highlight the top festival trends and a digital hub for inspirational content.

Pinterest will also be making an appearance at Coachella itself, with a live Installation “that emulates the feeling of stepping into a giant Pinterest collage.”

Upon entering the space, visitors will be immersed in festival trends brought to life through interactive installations. In the styling area, on-site stylists will help visitors remix their look with trend-inspired upgrades and accessories before heading to the photo studio to have their portrait taken by a professional photographer.”

So, if you need styling advice on the day, Pinterest will be there, while it’s also shared an overview of what’s in for Coachella right now, according to Pinterest trends.

  • The first key trend note is what Pinterest’s calling “Freestyle Fits”, which is a throwback to Y2k streetwear. “Serving up looks inspired by hip-hop and R&B, vintage jerseys and camo shorts are the moment – making it feel like 2007 all over again.”
  • “Stereo Punk” is another trend of note, including punk jackets, plaid skirts, chain belts, and mohawk braids.
  • Or you could go for “Dark Ethereal”, which incorporates flowing silhouettes, sheer-on-sheer styling and lace.
  • “Urban Wrangler” is another style on the rise, with bolo ties, jorts, and boots.
  • “Main Pop Girl” has also seen a big rise, if you’re more into glitter, leopard print skirts, and red nails.
  • Or you could go for the “Tweet Aesthetic” withflorals inspired by vintage wallpaper and the return of the Peter Pan collar.”
  • Finally, Pinterest says that “Pastel Goth” is gaining more traction in the app, with platform boots, skull and cross accessories, and “goth pink make-up”.

A range of options to choose from, so there’s bound to be something that takes your fancy.

Each of these trends has seen a big jump in engagement in the app, and Pinterest has also shared the related search activity increases for each element in its overview report.
