Lorde leaves little to the imagination in the Grant Singer-directed video for her new song “Man of the Year,” which finds her removing her top, covering her breasts with tape and dancing cathartically around a Los Angeles loft space apparently filled with nothing but dirt.
It’s the second Jim-E Stack-produced track to emerge from Lorde’s upcoming album, Virgin, following “What Was That.” The 11-track project will be released June 27 by Republic and can be pre-ordered here.

“An offering from really deep inside me,” Lorde wrote of “Man of the Year” on Instagram. “The song I’m proudest of on Virgin.” Daniel Nigro, Fabiana Palladino, Andrew Aged and Buddy Ross also have writing credits on the album.
Lorde is supporting Virgin with an extensive world tour, which begins Sept. 17 in Austin, Tx.
