Kim Kardashian completed her six-year law apprenticeship and finally sat for the California Bar Exam in July.
Kim Kardashian sat for the California Bar Exam in late July 2025 after six years of legal apprenticeship and a long road that included multiple setbacks.
The two-day exam—widely regarded as one of the most difficult in the country—tested Kardashian’s knowledge through essays, performance tasks and multiple-choice questions.
She pursued the law office study route, an alternative to law school that allowed her to train under licensed attorneys. Kardashian passed the First-Year Law Students’ Examination, also known as the “baby bar,” on her fourth try in December 2021.
In May 2025, she marked the completion of her apprenticeship with a graduation ceremony surrounded by family and friends.
Unlike most bar candidates who lock themselves away for months of intense prep, Kardashian juggled her studies with a packed schedule that included filming, travel and appearances at high-profile events like Jeff Bezos’s wedding.
The California Bar Exam had a pass rate of 53.8% in July 2024. Results from the July 2025 exam are expected on November 7, with the California State Bar set to release them publicly on November 9.
Kardashian has been vocal about the hurdles she faced on her legal path, often crediting her mentors and family for their support.
Kim Kardashian Celebrates Passing Baby Bar
“I failed this exam 3 times in 2 years,” she wrote after passing the baby bar. “But I got back up each time and studied harder and tried again until I did it!!!”
Her legal ambitions are rooted in her work on criminal justice reform. She has helped advocate for clemency in several high-profile cases and has received recognition for her efforts in this area.
Meanwhile, Kardashian found herself at the center of online debate earlier this week after her 12-year-old daughter, North West, appeared in a TikTok video wearing a black corset top, denim mini skirt and platform boots during a family trip to Rome, Italy.
Critics called the outfit inappropriate for her age, with some urging Kardashian to “preserve her daughter’s innocence.”
Others pushed back, defending North’s right to express herself and calling out the judgmental tone of the backlash. “Weirdos,” one supporter wrote in response to the criticism.
North, who shares a TikTok account with her mother, confidently showed off her look in a video featuring her green-blue ombré pigtails.
