Days before taking the bar exam, Kim Kardashian revealed she didn’t have plans to take it again if she failed.
During the Thursday, December 18, episode of The Kardashians, Kim, 45, was filmed studying just one week before taking the exam.
“I woke up and I did a practice test for three hours. I did one yesterday for three hours. I am absolutely going to cry because it’s exhausting,” she said while bursting into tears. “I threw my back out. It’s like every time I get to another step, something pulls me back.”
Kim got emotional about the “roadblocks” preventing her from becoming a licensed attorney.
“I’m not a pity-party kind of girl. But last night I was like, ‘Why is this happening?’ I can hardly walk. I can hardly sit. I don’t know why I have all these back problems,” she noted. “It was really out and I won’t be able to sit in the chair to take the test. They say, ‘Everyone — before they take the bar — has a mental breakdown.’ I just knew that wasn’t me because I’m not that person. But I get it. It’s really a lot.”
While reflecting on her journey to take the bar, Kim opened up about the emotional burden, adding, “I had no clue it was gonna be like this. I’m shocked at myself that I’m honestly breaking down because I find myself to be so strong. I don’t know how I can get any more information into my brain. This is such a mindf***.”
Kim admitted that she had doubts about how long she could keep going. “I really want it. But if I don’t pass, I don’t think I would take it again. I wouldn’t have the time for a few years. And then I’m older and then my brain capacity is different,” she explained. “I just don’t think I’m the best test-taker. So to know that over six years of my life that I’ve been studying for comes down to this one test — it is the most terrifying feeling.”
In a sneak peek at the season 7 finale, Kim broke down after taking the exam. “I slept like s***,” she said. “I just ran out of time.”
Kim previously revealed she didn’t pass the exam on her first try.
“Six years into this law journey, and I’m still all in until I pass the bar,” she wrote via Instagram in November. “No shortcuts, no giving up — just more studying and even more determination. Thank you to everyone who has supported and encouraged me along the way so far.”
She added: “Falling short isn’t a failure — it’s fuel. I was so close to passing the exam and that only motivates me even more. Let’s Go!!!!!!!!!”
Kim also teased her plans once she was successful at getting her license to practice law.
“I will be qualified in two weeks. I hope to practice law,” she shared on the U.K.’s Graham Norton Show one month prior. “Maybe in 10 years, I think I’ll give up being Kim K. and be a trial lawyer. That’s what I really want.”
New episodes of The Kardashians air Thursdays on Hulu.
