Joshua Jackson Reveals Where He Stands with Katie Holmes Today

Joshua Jackson shared where he stands with his Dawson’s Creek costar and ex Katie Holmes.

Jackson, who played Pacey Witter on the series that ran for six seasons from 1998 to 2003, was a guest on the Tuesday, April 22, episode of Jesse Tyler Ferguson‘s podcast, Dinner’s on Me.

While discussing how he and his former costars rallied to support James Van Der Beek after he revealed that he was diagnosed with colorectal cancer last year, Jackson, 46, opened up about which costars he stays in touch with.

“Busy [Philipps] and Michelle [Williams] are very, very close. And Katie and I are very close,” he said, noting that while he and his castmates don’t always keep in touch, their connection is strong.

“It’s not a daily call. Sometimes it’s not a weekly or monthly or even a half-yearly call. But when you’re together, A, there’s always that, like, I know you know,” said Jackson.

“And B, there is, you know, these moments, like, these major moments in life are, like, other than your husband, there’s probably no other people in your life that you are that forged to,” he continued. “Because you had to go through good and bad, and happy and f— you, and don’t talk to me and I love you.”

Last June, Holmes, 46, also said she and her castmates keep in touch “every now and then,” but admitted that she wasn’t aware of a long-running Dawson’s Creek WhatsApp group chat.

“All of us text every now and then, but I wasn’t aware of the WhatsApp. But you know what? I’m really bad at WhatsApp. I never check it because it’s a little too much,” she said.

Holmes, who played Joey Potter on the series, and Jackson dated for a year early during the filming of Dawson’s Creek. They dated between 1998 and 1999, but continued working together until the show ended in 2003.

Jackson married Jodie Turner-Smith in 2019 and had one child together before splitting in 2023. The actor would then go on to date Lupita Nyong’o and be spotted out with Nastassja Roberts.
