Jim Jones lit up a new episode of “Joe and Jada” by claiming he’s more relevant and has more hits than Nas, igniting a heated back-and-forth with Fat Joe and Jadakiss while brushing off the numbers.
The Harlem rapper responded to a viral clip of a 22-year-old Hip-Hop fan from New Jersey who said Jones had surpassed Nas in both relevance and chart success.
During the podcast, Jim Jones leaned into the moment, saying he’s not trying to disrespect Nas but believes his catalog speaks for itself.
“These kids love me. They don’t really know who Nas,” Jones said, pointing to the generational divide. He explained that Nas dropped his debut when Jones was still in high school, and younger listeners today are more familiar with his work.
“A lot of these rappers have done a tremendous job,” he said. “I take nothing away from them. But they forget I got a hell of a catalog. Me, Jim Jones myself. Gold records, platinum records, gold albums, platinum albums, you know me. Jim Jones, no Diplomats.”
Jones doubled down on his chart credentials, challenging anyone to compare stats.
“Check my track record, then check everybody else’s track record, then go to Billboard and check all my entries and check all of them n##### entries,” he said. “So let’s not get into that where we get into numbers, and I got to show you the statistics of what I’ve done.”
When Fat Joe tried to pump the brakes, saying, “We can’t compare the two,” Jones pushed back.
“Pull up Nas billboard entries, then pull up my billboard entries,” he said, refusing to let the conversation slide.
Online users did just that, quickly surfacing data showing Nas with a deeper list of Billboard entries, higher charting singles and albums, and more platinum plaques.

But Jones didn’t seem fazed.
As the debate gained traction, he took to Instagram with a knowing grin.
