‘Jeopardy!’ Snail Mail Lookalike Discusses Her Döppelganger

No, that was not Snail Mail’s Lindsey Jordan competing in this week’s Jeopardy! Champions Wildcard quarterfinals. That would be Stella Trout, a software engineer from Texas, though the contestant did acknowledge her pretty uncanny resemblance to the indie rocker during yesterday’s episode.

For context, Trout had a two-episode run during Jeopardy!‘s regular-season games last June. That prompted viewers and fans to start pointing out that she looked quite a bit like Jordan. This week, Trout returned to Jeopardy! for the Champion Wildcard quarterfinals, during which host Ken Jennings asked about her minor-celebrity lookalike: “People online said I looked a lot like this indie musician Snail Mail,” Trout explained. “[Jordan] saw it, and so then she followed me, and now we follow each other. And I’m like, ‘Snail Mail, let me be your stunt double or something.'”

Jordan, too, acknowledged the resemblance on her Instagram story, posting a screenshot of Trout at her Jeopardy! podium captioned: “i love u twin.” It’s true! They do look alike! I hope they become real life friends. [Spoiler ahead…] The episode had a happy ending for the twins: Trout was the only correct guesser in Final Jeopardy!, which means we’ll be seeing more of her soon during the semifinals.
