Let’s Eat Grandma’s Jenny Hollingworth has been rolling out her solo debut as Jenny On Holiday, Quicksand Heart, and the singles so far have been top-notch. On the advance tracks “Dolphins” and “Every Ounce Of Me,” Hollingworth is bringing a deeply human indie-pop charm to maximalist ’80s pop touchpoints. Today’s new track “Good Intentions” keeps that formula intact. It’s a glowing synth power ballad with big Kate Bush energy but with a pinch of Sarah Records relatability to bring it back to Earth.
“I wrote Good Intentions as a reflection on challenges I’ve faced in the past and how I relate to them in the present,” Hollingworth says. “It’s about striving to live and love fully despite life’s uncertainties.” Below, watch the ALFRED-directed music video.
Quicksand Heart is out 1/9 on Transgressive.
