Jennifer Lawrence is taking a page from her new mom playbook.
Months after welcoming her and husband Cooke Maroney’s second son, the Die My Love star detailed how her worldview changed after becoming a mom for the first time with their 3-year-old Cy.
“When I had my first child, I felt completely connected to my baby,” Jennifer, 35, explained in an interview with W Magazine published Nov. 7. “But I also realized the world wasn’t designed around that relationship.”
She continued, “Suddenly, you’re like, ‘Wait, how am I supposed to go back to work? Get in a car and drive away? Get on an airplane and fly away from my baby? Like, what are you talking about?’ Everything looks different after that.”
But as she navigated all the changes motherhood brought to her, she wasn’t doing so alone.
“As a mom, especially when I was a new, first-time mom, my community and having a mom community was so vital,” she told E! News at the premiere of her and Robert Pattinson’s new movie earlier this month. “Having a community is so, so important and just being able to check in with other women, like, ‘Is this normal?'”
