A week after surprising fans with a drop of 17 new singles, Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams has unveiled a video for the song “Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party.” Described as a “portrait” of the artist’s Nashville hometown, the Zachary Gray-directed clip finds her milling around the city’s popular Broadway district, hanging out with Tennessee House of Representative Justin Jones and even belting out some tunes in a karaoke bar.
Williams released the batch of new music on DSPs through her Post Atlantic imprint, which is distributed by Secretly Distribution. They were produced by Daniel James and also include contributions from Brian Robert Jones, Joey Howard and Jim-E Stack.
Although not labeled as an album, the batch of fresh material follows Williams’ two pandemic-era solo releases, 2020’s Petals For Armor and 2021’s Flowers for Vases. Paramore returned in 2023 after a five-year hiatus with This Is Why, which won two Grammys.
In other news, Williams guests with David Byrne on the song “Open the Door” from the upcoming Netflix animated film The Twits, arriving Oct. 17. Byrne wrote and produced three other original songs, “We’re Not Like Ev’ryone Else,” “Lullaby” and “The Problem Is You,” for the project, which is based on characters by Roald Dahl and boasts voice acting by Natalie Portman and Emilia Clarke.
