Fugazi Bringing Live Show Archive To Streaming Services

In 2011, pioneering Washington, D.C., underground rock quarter Fugazi began making their professionally recorded concert archive available via the name-your-own-price Fugazi Live Series on Dischord.com, which has since surfaced nearly 1,000 full shows spanning 1987-2002.

To date, the material has not been available for purchase or streaming through any other services, but that will change Friday (May 2) when Fugazi shares its first-ever gig, from Sept. 3, 1987, in Washington, D.C., and its last, from Nov. 2, 2022, in London, through Bandcamp.

More from Spin:

Per Dischord, additional shows will hit Bandcamp monthly through the end of the year, and will eventually roll out to other, as-yet-unannounced streaming services. All the concerts will continue to be available at the original Fugazi Live Series landing page, which also hosts detailed show information and memorabilia scans.

The 1987 show is notable beyond it being Fugazi’s first, as the group played as a rare trio minus guitarist/vocalist Guy Picciotto, who’d yet to join. Fugazi have retrospectively said they didn’t know the 2002 London concert would be their last, but the band have indeed not played in public since then (they allegedly jam from time to time in private and have turned down highly lucrative offers to reunite).
