EsDeeKid Objects To The Chainsmokers’ Unauthorized Remix

The Chainsmokers are back, wreaking remix havoc. The duo has been reworking some of music’s biggest hits, including Charli XCX’s “party 4 u,” Chappell Roan’s “Pink Pony Club,” and Gracie Abrams’ “That’s So True.” Last month they shared a rework of Taylor Swift’s “The Fate Of Ophelia” and to close out 2025 they dropped a remix of sombr’s “back to friends.” Except for “The Fate Of Ophelia,” which is widely available and endorsed by Swift, these were all unauthorized and exist only on the Chainsmokers’ YouTube and SoundCloud. Most recently, the duo released an unsolicited remix of scouse rapper EsDeeKid’s “4 Raws” yesterday afternoon, and it has not been received well.

The British rapper tweeted last night:

that chainsmokers remix is getting NUKED mate wow please. don’t remix my shit and think it’s cool to post to all DSPs.

The remix was promptly removed from YouTube and SoundCloud, but clips are still making the rounds online.

EsDeeKid has had a big year, prolifically releasing music, getting mistaken for Timothée Chalamet, and then releasing music with Chalamet. I don’t think he needs any promo help from the Chainsmoker dudes.

That aside, a congratulations are in order for Drew Taggart, one half of the Chainsmokers, and model Marianne Fonseca. They tied the knot last weekend.
