Elon Musk Punks Out: Apologizes To President Trump

Elon Musk issued a rare apology to Donald Trump after a heated online feud over government spending escalated into personal attacks and political threats.

Elon Musk walked back his online attacks on President Trump Tuesday (June 11) by issuing a rare public apology after a week of escalating insults and political threats.

“I regret some of my posts about President @realdonaldtrump last week. They went too far,” Musk posted on X, the platform he owns.

The apology followed a string of now-deleted posts where Musk accused President Trump of being linked to Jeffrey Epstein’s files, called for his impeachment and even floated JD Vance as a replacement for the presidency.

The online feud, which began over disagreements on a congressional spending bill, quickly spiraled into personal attacks and threats to government contracts involving Musk’s companies.

President Trump responded bluntly, telling reporters he had “no desire” to speak with Musk and accused the billionaire of being “disrespectful to the office of the President.”

The tension between the two high-profile figures had been building for weeks, but it reached a boiling point in early June when Musk began targeting Trump’s fiscal policies and leadership.

The posts, which included references to alleged secret files and unverified claims, were seen by many in Washington as a direct challenge to the administration.

Vice President JD Vance, who was dragged into the controversy by Musk’s suggestion that he should replace Trump, called the remarks a “huge mistake.”

“I hope he comes back into the fold,” Vance said. “But I also understand that some damage may be hard to repair.”

His decision to walk back the comments suggests pressure from both business and political circles may have influenced his tone.
