Eddie Vedder To Premiere EB Research Doc At Tribeca Fest

Efforts to cure the debilitating skin disease Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), and Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder‘s role therein, are at the forefront of the documentary Matter of Time, which will premiere June 12 at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York. Vedder will also offer “an intimate acoustic performance” after the screening.

Vedder and his wife Jill co-founded EB Research Partnership in 2010 in hopes of identifying treatments and cures for the condition, which impacts children from birth. Vedder’s 2023 solo performances in Seattle raised funds for the mission and are prominently featured in the movie, while Broken Social Scene contributed an original score.

More from Spin:

Matter of Time, which is named after a Vedder solo track, is “told through the voices of families living with EB, pioneering scientists and the relentless mission of EB Research Partnership,” per Vedder’s Instagram. It’s “a story of radical hope, bold science and a community that refuses to give up.”

The documentary was directed by Matt Finlin and produced by Karen Barzilay for Door Knocker Media in tandem with Pearl Jam’s philanthropic Vitalogy Foundation.

Tribeca Film will also offer premieres of several other music-related projects centered around Billy Joel, Metallica, Miley Cyrus and Depeche Mode.

Meanwhile, Pearl Jam return to the road April 24 in Hollywood, Fl.
