In light of Tory Lanez‘s attorneys claiming to have new evidence that shows he is innocent of shooting Megan Thee Stallion, several rappers, including Drake, Ye, Kodak Black and more, have come out in support of the movement to free the Canadian rap-crooner.
Rappers Share Tory Lanez Petition
On May 14, a petition on change.org was launched urging California Governor Gavin Newsom to free Tory Lanez. The petition was launched following a press conference where Tory’s attorneys announced Kelsey Harris’ former bodyguard has come forward and revealed he overheard Harris admit to the 2020 shooting in 2022.
Since then, several rappers have shown Tory support by posting the link to the petition on social media. On May 16, Drizzy shared the link on his Instagram Story. More of Tory’s peers have followed suit, including Ye, Kodak Black, Joyner Lucas, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie and others.
As of press time, the petition, which is requesting Gov. Newsom pardon Tory, has received over 266,000 signatures.

New Evidence Proves Tory Lanez Is Innocent?
On the heels of Tory Lanez being stabbed in prison on May 12, his attorneys shared new information about his case two days later. They claim Kelsey Harris’ bodyguard, Bradley James, who worked for her during the Tory Lanez trial, now admits hearing Kelsey reveal during a phone call that she pulled the trigger and shot Megan on July 12, 2020.
“This further iterates Mr. Peterson did not shoot Ms. Pete, did not shoot at Ms. Pete and did not assault Ms. Pete.” United The People consultant Water Roberts told the assembled press.
In addition, Fox News’ Gianno Caldwell recently revealed he’s spent the last six months investigating the Tory Lanez case, and claims the rapper was railroaded by former L.A. D.A. George Gascón.
Tory is currently serving a 10-year sentence after being found guilty in December of 2022 of shooting Megan Thee Stallion in 2020.
Megan Thee Stallion’s attorney, Alex Spiro, has released the following statement to XXL about Tory Lanez’s attorneys now claiming to have evidence that proves Megan was shot by Kelsey Harris: “Tory Lanez was tried and convicted by a jury of his peers and his case was properly adjudicated through the court system. This is not a political matter—this is a case of a violent assault that was resolved in the court of law.”
