Classical Highlights for January 2025

Our January reviews contain some radiant and recognizable music. Trumpeter Romain Leleu (pictured) and pianist Julien Gernay created an inventive program for Folies Parisiennes that not only shows off their skills, but also delights the listener. For a more majestic sound, check out Voices of Thunder, which shows off the choir and the new organ of Magdalen College, Oxford. John Williams Reimagined is another creative release, placing familiar film themes by the legendary composer in the more intimate setting of the piano trio. Rinaldo Alessandrini also serves up new arrangements of well-known works with More Bach, Please!
