Robert Glasper will open the Los Angeles incarnation of the legendary Blue Note Jazz Club on Aug. 14, leading a stellar initial lineup of shows running through early 2026. Blue Note, which already has nine different locations around the world including its flagship downtown New York venue, is launching in L.A. with a 200-capacity main showroom and a 100-capacity secondary room, as well as a full kitchen. It will be located on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood.
“I’m honored to partner up with Blue Note and open the doors to what will be a significant cultural intersection for the Los Angeles community,” says Glasper, who will also play at the venue on Aug. 21-22 and Dec. 16-21 an an extension of his annual Robtober residencies at Blue Note New York. “Los Angeles has always been a second home to me, and I can’t wait to bring L.A. culture to the Blue Note.”

“Blue Note L.A. will focus on curated and consistent, artist-driven programming in that intimate Blue Note Jazz Club vibe that people love,” says Blue Note Entertainment Group Director of Programming Alex Kurland, whose adventurous bookings have been at the heart of the company’s expansion. “Blue Note New York has a uniquely New York energy, and for Blue Note L.A., it’s important to honor what makes this city’s creative energy and spirit so distinctive. Blue Note embraces the space to collaborate and experience those spontaneous moments that are special.”
Meanwhile, Glasper will reprise his artist-in-residence role at Blue Note Jazz Festival’s Black Radio Experience when it returns Aug. 29-31 to Meritage Resort and Spa in Napa, Ca. The event will also feature performances by the Roots and Questlove, Jazmine Sullivan, Hiatus Kaiyote, Slum Village, Lupe Fiasco, Willow and Warren G. The festival is named after a series of Glasper studio albums.
