The hosts and musical guests are locked in for the final shows of the current season of NBC’s Saturday Night Live, beginning Dec. 6 with host Melissa McCarthy and musical guest Dijon.
The following week, actor Josh O’Connor will host and the resurgent Lily Allen will perform for the first time since 2007. The latter’s no-holds-barred new album, West End Girl, has become a quick critical darling and is also sizzling on the U.K. charts.
The season finale on Dec. 20 will be led by Ariana Grande, while Cher will serve as the musical guest for the first time since 1987. Grande, who has hosted thrice previously, will be plugging her film Wicked: For Good, which hits theaters Friday (Nov. 21).
Dijon will be the most unfamiliar name to mainstream viewers, although his production work on this year’s Justin Bieber comeback album SWAG has elevated his profile significantly and earned him a Grammy nomination for Producer of the Year, Non-Classical. Dijon was also recognized for his own album, Baby, which enjoyed rave reviews.
