- Lorenzo Musetti and his girlfriend, Veronica Confalonieri, are currently expecting their second child
- Their first son, Ludovico Musetti, was born in 2022
- The tennis star’s second child is due in November 2025
Lorenzo Musetti has been fiercely competing to take home his first US Open title in the 2025 competition — but earning the trophy is far from his only goal.
“Probably having more responsibilities and becoming a sort of example, not just for my kid, but also for all the kids that watch tennis and they dream about becoming a professional tennis player or they love the sport,” the tennis pro told RolandGarros.com in May 2025 of how fatherhood changed him.
He added, “Try to be an example also on the court, on the court and off the court. That’s my main goal, I would say.”
Two years after making his relationship with Italian graphic designer Veronica Confalonieri public in December 2022, the couple welcomed a baby boy together, Ludovico Musetti. In May 2025, they announced that they were expecting their second child in a joint Instagram post.
Here’s everything to know about Lorenzo Musetti’s son, Ludovico, and his baby on the way.

Musetti and Confalonieri announced they were expecting a child in 2023 and welcomed their son, Ludovico, on March 15, 2024. They shared the news of his birth with a joint Instagram post that featured a black-and-white photo of the infant with the caption that read “Good morning world 🐥💙” in Italian.
Before Ludovico was born, Musetti told the crowd at the Adelaide International in January 2024 that his goal for the new year was to be “a great father,” per Tennis.com. When the outlet checked in with the Italian tennis player several months later and asked how he thought he was doing with his goal so far, he replied, “You have to ask the mother.”
“I was pretty scared of everything, honestly,” Musetti told Tennis.com in November 2024. “Especially when he was just a newborn. I was really scared of holding him. And then, when the nurse [gave] me him for the first time, I was holding him in a really natural way. It was surprising.”

The professional athlete has also enjoyed other simple acts of fatherhood like putting his son to sleep (even though it sometimes requires being “really patient”) and the unexpected hilarity of changing his diaper.
“The first time that I changed him, he peed himself when I was changing the diapers,” Musetti told Tennis.com. “We were like this [motions moving away] to avoid to be hit by his pee. It was really funny and also something that you remember with happiness.”
He also noted that the first eight months of Ludovico’s life had already flown by and that he thinks a lot about his son’s future, “When he will start to walk, when he starts to talk and when he will start to understand what I’m doing for living.”
Ludovico has attended many of his father’s matches, including the 2024 US Open where Musetti ran to the stands to celebrate with his mother and his son. The tennis player said that Ludovico’s birth gave him “a lot of responsibility” and that he’ll always bring along his family whenever he can.
“I’m really, really close to my family, to what we created,” Musetti told Tennis.com. “When I have the chance to bring with me all the family, I like to do so.”

In May 2025, Musetti and Confalonieri shared on Instagram that they were expecting their second child. Alongside a black-and-white photo of Musetti and Lorenzo putting their hands on Confalonieri’s stomach, the caption read, in Italian: “The family is growing #4🩵.”
Since the announcement, the family have enjoyed some downtime at the beach and at their home in Monte Carlo, Monaco. In August 2025, they shared a few sonogram photos of their baby on the way.
That same month, Musetti told Vogue that their second child was due in November 2025.
