A$AP Rocky Enlists Winona Ryder, Thundercat For ‘Punk’ Video

A$AP Rocky has dropped another new single, “Punk Rocky,” ahead of the Jan. 16 release of Don’t Be Dumb, his first album in eight years. The accompanying video stars Winona Ryder, Danny Elfman, Thundercat and A$AP Nast and introduces five of Rocky’s six Don’t Be Dumb-specific alter egos, who are apparently named GR1M, RUGAHAND, BABUSHKA BOI, SHIRTHEAD and DUMMY.

Rocky directed the clip alongside Folkert Verdoorn and Simon Becks under their Three Musketeers creative moniker. The song, which features an uncharacteristic indie rock-style guitar foundation, was co-written by Rocky, Cristoforo Donadi, Adam King Feeney and Zach Fogarty.

Don’t Be Dumb has been preceded by the tracks “Highjack” featuring Jessica Pratt, the J. Cole-assisted “Ruby Rosary,” “Tailor Swif” and “Pray4DaGang.” Rocky has previously tipped Pharrell, Mike Dean, Metro Boomin, the Alchemist and Elfman as production collaborators.

As previously reported, the rapper will serve as the musical guest on the first 2026 episode of NBC’s Saturday Night Live when he joins host/Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard on Jan. 17.

Don’t Be Dumb (A$AP Worldwide/RCA) is the follow-up to 2018’s Testing, which debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200.
