Kendrick Lamar is knee-deep in the Grand National Tour, but it appears he may also be working on new music at the same time.
Kendrick Lamar Hits the Studio
On Wednesday (May 7), K-Dot had a break on tour ahead of back-to-back shows at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. on May 8 and May 9. Instead of resting, it looks like Dot decided to get some work in. The Compton, Calif., rapper was spotted by photogs entering a studio in the West Village in Lower Manhattan. In the photo, which can be seen below, the GNX rapper is sporting a backward baseball hat and glasses. He has a button-down shirt wrapped around his torso and is holding a phone in his hand.

Fans React to Kendrick Lamar Being at Studio
Fans have been weighing in on what Dot’s studio session could mean.
“What do y’all think Kendrick is cooking up in the studio?” one fan questioned on X. “A feature? Album mode? Clipse Verse? New collab?”
“It’s not AI,” someone else posted. “Also, Kendrick never gets caught walking into a studio anymore. This was intentional. We getting a new album.”
“If this story is true that Kendrick went the studio today I’m sure Drake was either mentioned or eluded to,” another post reads. “But it’s 1000% about Kanye.”
Kendrick Lamar Continues to Stack Wins
Kendrick Lamar continues to stack accolades following his epic battle with Drake and the release of his GNX album last November. In addition to winning five Grammy Awards in February, he is up for nine American Music Awards. On Thursday, he was nominated for 10 2025 BET Awards.
