Questions Surrounding Young Scooter’s Death
Young Scooter, born Kenneth Bailey, died on March 28, on his 39th birthday. According to police, they responded to an anonymous 911 call at a home on William Nye Drive in Atlanta. The caller claimed gunshots had been fired and a bloody woman had been pushed out of the home. When police arrived, Scooter and another man ran out of the backdoor. Scooter was later found by officers having suffered from an injury as the result of jumping a fence to evade capture. Police attempted to render aid but he later succumbed to his wounds.
Immediately, some people questioned the story, prompting the APD to get the Georgia Bureau of Investigations to look into the death. Over the weekend, police released audio of the 911 call that prompted them to show up at the home. They are seeking to identify the unnamed caller, with some people speculating that it may have been a bogus call.
On Tuesday, before the official autopsy report was released, Young Thug incorrectly announced autopsy results revealed Scooter had been shot.
“Autopsy came back street got shot,” Thug wrote in a since-deleted post on X referencing Scooter’s nickname.
Future also commented on Scooter’s passing on Tuesday, writing on X, “I can hear u loud and clear my brother(street)…we got u kid.”
