Release Roundup: ROSALÍA, Violet Grohl, District Five

** ROSALÍA shines amid a desert backdrop in the new Noah Dillon-directed video for “Sauvignon Blanc,” which was first released on her 2025 Columbia album LUX. Instrumentals and a cappella versions of the song have also been newly made available on Spotify and Apple Music.

The cover star for Vogue‘s spring issue, ROSALÍA will stage one of her first LUX-related live performances Feb. 28 at the BRIT Awards in Manchester, U.K. As previously reported, she’ll support the album with an extensive global tour, beginning March 16 in Lyon, France.

** Violet Grohl steps out in the first proper music video of her nascent career with “THUM,” which was directed by Nikki Milan Houston and shot on a Super 8 and 16mm film. The track, which nods to the groove-rooted rock of Queens of the Stone Age and the revved-up attitude of Hole, was previously released digitally in tandem with the song “Applefish.” They’ll both be found on Grohl’s impending Auroura Records/Republic debut, due this spring. In addition, the David Lynch homage “What’s Heaven Without You” and the non-album cut “Swallowtail” will be released on seven inch vinyl April 18 as part of Record Store Day.

** Zurich-based quartet District Five has unveiled the first taste of its next album with the single “Place Your Bet,” which is out now through Stone Pixel Records. Marked by a 7/4 time signature and a Juno synth line, the track “is about the nature and allure of gambling and addictive behavior, desperate hopefulness [and] risk-taking. On the bright side, there’s a big coda at the end that feels like a chorus / resolution.” New album details have yet to be announced, but expect the project out in time for summer. In the meantime, District Five will stage a mini-monthly residency at Zurich venue Helsinkiklub on Feb. 22, April 26, May 27 and June 28.
