Rapper Baby Keem will make a long-overdue return Feb. 20 with his sophomore Columbia album, Ca$ino, which features his cousin Kendrick Lamar on the song “Good Flirts.” A nine-minute behind-the-scenes film about the artist can be sampled below.
Ca$ino is the follow-up to the 25-year-old Keem’s 2021 debut, The Melodic Blue, which was certified platinum for U.S. shipments of one million copies in the U.S., according to the Recording Industry Association of America. It spawned the Lamar-featuring single “Family Ties,” which won the Best Rap Performance Grammy.
Other guests on the new project include legendary Bay Area rapper Too Short and vocalists Momo Boyd and Che Ecru.
Keem has kept a very low profile in recent years beyond a 2023 one-off single with Lamar, “The Hillbillies,” and a collaboration that year with electronic musician Fred again.. on “Leavemealone.” He hasn’t performed a major live show since November 2023 at Tyler, the Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw in Los Angeles, but will return the road June 5 at the Governors Ball festival in New York and also co-headline London’s All Points East festival in late August alongside Tyler and Clipse.
