At the end of month, Ari Lennox is releasing her third studio album Vacancy. We’ve heard the title track and the single “Under The Moon.” Today she’s three for three with another called “Twin Flame.”
It was produced by Tommy “TBHits” Brown and Leather Jacket. Whereas “Under The Moon” had some sensual doo-wop flare to it, “Twin Flame” is built on a charming, playful syncopated beat. It has a great bounce to it. Lennox sings about how this love has transformed her: “Ooh, you got me out here actin’ different.” On the chorus, she’s begging to know if this fiery feeling is mutual. “I’m asking do you love me? Say you love me,” Lennox croons. At the end, the track shape-shifts, morphing into sultry trip-hop. Lennox is a true vocal chameleon here; her voice sounds so damn good throughout.
