LA shoegazers Luster popped up with two new songs on consecutive days last April, which made us think they might be building toward some kind of larger release. Instead, their Bandcamp has remained silent until today. Luster have kicked off 2026 with a new single called “Don’t Need You.” It’s an uptempo track that, due to its murky sonics, feels a bit like speeding through the mud — except Luster’s production and Nick Bassett’s mixing/mastering are a bit too pretty for that comparison, so maybe it’s more accurate to call it a joyride through dense fog.
