Summercamp Announce Reunion Show Opening For Nerf Herder

The Santa Barbara-based ’90s alt-rockers Summercamp, one word — not to be confused with the London-based 2010s indie pop band Summer Camp, two words — broke up in 2001, and they haven’t performed since a hometown reunion show in the summer of 2015. That’s about to change.

Summercamp (the one-word ’90s Summercamp from California) just announced they’ll be taking the stage together for the first time in nearly 11 years this spring. Fellow ’90s Santa Barbara alt-rockers Nerf Herder are playing the city’s Lobero Theatre on April 18 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their self-titled debut album. Summercamp and Ridel High will open the show. Tickets go on sale Thursday.

“This one means a lot to us, and we’re beyond excited to share the stage with such great friends and bands,” Summercamp write on Instagram.

In related news, you may or may not know that Nerf Herder’s Parry Gripp has released an incredible amount of super-catchy, super-silly children’s songs, “Raining Tacos” foremost among them. He’s sort of the Caspar Babypants of California.
