Gene Simmons Blames ‘Bad Decisions’ For Death of Former Kiss Bandmate Ace Frehley

In an interview with the New York Post, published on Saturday, December 6, Simmons, 76, detailed his perspective. “He refused [advice] from people that cared about him — including yours truly — to try to change his lifestyle. In and out of bad decisions. Falling down the stairs — I’m not a doctor — doesn’t kill you. There may have been other issues, and it breaks my heart,” Simmons said.

He continued, “The saddest thing — you reap what you shall sow, unfortunately.”

Us Weekly confirmed on November 10 that Frehley died at the age of 74 after suffering from a stroke and “subdural hematoma” caused by a fracture to the back of his skull, on October 16. His death was ruled an accident. It was first reported on by TMZ at the time.
