Jordon Hudson Messaged Dave Portnoy Over Critical Bill Belichick Post

UPDATE 11/21/25, 4:26 p.m. ET: Dave Portnoy shared a screenshot from his DMs on Friday, November 21, showing Jordon Hudson sent him a second message, this time a thumbs up emoji.

“We are so back! #back,” he wrote via X alongside the screenshot.

The North Carolina Tar Heels are just 4-6 in 2025, but head coach Bill Belichick has his girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, on the front lines to defend him.

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy claims that Hudson, 24, messaged him via X after he questioned Belichick’s mental faculties while watching UNC’s latest game.

“Watching UNC is so frustrating. It’s like an alien stole Belichick’s brain. Just horribly coached. Horrible decisions,” Portnoy, 48, wrote on Saturday, November 15, in the closing minutes of North Carolina’s 28-12 loss at Wake Forest.

“Belichick needs to retire,” he added in a subsequent post. “This is disgusting. I’m not even sure he knows the score or where he is.”

The journalist responsible for leaking audio of Jordon Hudson complaining on a hot mic explained why the footage is emblematic of a larger issue surrounding Hudson’s relationship with her boyfriend, Bill Belichick. The footage of Hudson, 24, was from a taping of Belichick’s show Coach in September 2024, and released on Friday, October 17, by […]

Portnoy then revealed on the Wednesday, November 19, episode of the “Barstool Pick Em” podcast that Hudson messaged him.

“I got a thumbs-down from her. I got a DM, just a thumbs-down,” he said. “I didn’t send her nothing … She DM’d me a thumbs-down.”

Portnoy was also critical of Belichick, 73, and Hudson in April, after Belichick’s infamous CBS Sunday Morning interview, in which Hudson interrupted journalist Tony Dokoupil to shut down a question over how the couple met. Portnoy later called it “the most awkward Bill Belichick interview I’ve ever seen” in a post via X.

Hudson did not respond to Portnoy directly at the time, but later reposted a message to her X account that read, “Nothing awkward about it. Imagine a private person wanting to keep their private life private. Shocking.”

Bill Belichick returned to the hot seat after his girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, made headlines for interrupting his CBS interview in April. The University of North Carolina football coach, 73, sat down for a live segment with Michael Strahan for Good Morning America on Friday, May 16. Amid widespread interest in Belichick’s relationship with Hudson, 24, […]

Belichick is in his first year as head coach of the Tar Heels, taking over for Mack Brown last offseason. As the program has tried to right the ship on the field, the legendary former New England Patriots head coach has found himself at the center of the rumor mill almost since the moment he was hired.

Some of that is because of the persistent speculation that he is angling for another NFL job, which he has since denied. But a major part is his age-gap relationship with Hudson, and Hudson’s association with the UNC program.

This isn’t her first run-in with the media, either. In August, Charlotte Wilder of The Athletic’s “The Sports Gossip Show” detailed a 13-minute conversation she allegedly had with Hudson in which Hudson berated her over the podcast’s coverage of her performance in the 2025 Miss Maine Pageant.

“I mean, she’s yelling at me. She’s crying. She said that she finished the rest of the Miss Maine episode, and she didn’t like what we said,” Wilder recalled. “And I was like, ‘Wait, what?’ I was like, ‘I thought we’ve been talking about the Miss Maine episode that we did, that you watched the whole time.”

“This goes on for 13 minutes,” she said. “I’m a journalist. This is my job. I’ve had sources yell at me before … Because we had what we thought [was] some level of trust with her, I think it felt like it was incredibly jarring.”

Wilder continued, “To call me, so upset, I was like ‘What are you doing?’ You want to save her from herself. She clearly doesn’t trust us anymore, we don’t trust her as a reliable narrator about herself.”
