Plantoid Share New Song “Good For You”: Listen

Early next year, the proggy and adventurous UK trio Plantoid will release their sophomore album Flare. We posted their lead single “Dozer,” and now they’ve followed it with the new track “Good For You,” which is not an Olivia Rodrigo cover. Instead, it’s a big, ambitious swing from a band with a knack for that kind of thing.

Plantoid drummer Louis Bradshaw tells KLOF that “Good For You is “less directly proggy” than the band’s other material and descries it as a “journey of rebirth and processing emotions.” I see what he’s saying, but I think it’s still pretty proggy. “Good For You” opens as a chiming, hypnotic folk song before moving into the realm of jittery math-rock and then back again over a six-minute runtime. You can get lost in this one. Check out the video, directed by Cali Titmas, below.

Flare is out 1/30 on Bella Union.
