The knowingly silly dance duo Confidence Man started off in Australia and then set up shop in London, and they’ve been responsible for a lot of extremely fun music lately. Last year, they released their album 3AM (La La La). This year, they’ve collaborated with JADE, Saint Etienne, and DJ Seinfeld. Now, they’re getting ready to release Active Scenes Vol. One, a new EP named after and inspired by the group’s club night series.
Active Scenes Vol. One is a club-focused record, and most of its tracks are remixes or new versions of songs that already existed. But there are a couple of new joints on there, and one of them is the new single “Damaged Goods,” which is not a Gang Of Four cover. It’s a bouncy, squelchy club track that mostly takes the focus off of Janet Planet’s snarky-glamorous vocals. Check it out below.
