Sophisticated new wave hitmaker Joe Jackson is still making whatever new music he wants. We last heard from Jackson when he released the concept-heavy 2023 music hall album Mr. Joe Jackson Presents Max Champion In ‘What A Racket!’. Early next year, he’s coming back with a new LP called Hope And Fury, as well as a major international tour.
A press release describes Hope And Fury as a return to Joe Jackson’s “own mainstream.” That just means that it’s the kind of thing you might expect from a Joe Jackson record, not one of the stylistic side-quests that he sometimes undertakes. Jackson recorded the LP in New York with co-producer Patrick Dillett and a bunch of the musicians that he’s been working with for years now. Jackson hasn’t released any of the music yet, so I can’t verify that description, but at least we know what to expect. Jackson has, however, shared the album’s tracklist and plans for a humungous number of live shows. Check those out below.
