Michigan Church Shooting
Thomas Jacob Sanford Served in Iraq Prior to Horrific Shooting
Published
The shooter who killed at least four people at a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc, Michigan Sunday morning had extensive military experience and served in Iraq.
Thomas Jacob Sanford — who was killed after exchanging gunfire with police — was reportedly an Iraq War veteran who served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 2004 to 2008.
It appears Sanford — who reached the rank of sergeant — supported President Donald Trump, at least at some point in the past … ’cause he wore a T-shirt featuring a prominent “Trump 2020” logo on the front in one of his social media posts.
As you know … cops say Sanford drove his truck into the front of the church and fired off rounds at hundreds of worshippers before setting fire to the building.
At least four people are dead while 8 are injured … and seven more are still missing, with more victims expected to turn up as time goes on.
Law enforcement authorities are still looking into the motivation behind the shooting.
Worth noting … an unrelated shooting in North Carolina was also allegedly perpetrated by a former U.S. Marine — Nigel Edge — who motored up a river in a boat and fired shots at a waterfront saloon Saturday night. Three people were killed, and Edge was later arrested.
