The Latin Recording Academy has announced the nominees for the 2025 Latin Grammy Awards. Leading the field is Bad Bunny, who received 12 nominations around his January album, Debí Tirar Más Fotos. The Puerto Rican singer, songwriter, and rapper will compete for Album of the Year, and he’ll compete against himself in Record of the Year and Song of the Year, with both categories featuring “Baile Inolvidable” and “DTMF.” Bad Bunny is also among the first nominees in the new Best Roots Song category; he’s recognized for “Lo Que Le Pasó a Hawaii,” and he’ll compete against Natalia Lafourcade and others.
Bad Bunny has now been nominated at the Latin Grammys every year since 2017. He won his first award in 2019, taking home Best Urban Music Album, for X 100Pre. He’s won 12 total awards, and he now has 52 career nominations.
The other double-digit nominees this year are Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso and the songwriter and producer Edgar Barrera. Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso—the Argentine duo of Catriel Guerreiro and Ulises Guerriero—are recognized for Papota and its songs, namely “El Día del Amigo” and “#Tetas.” Barrera’s work is mostly behind the scenes, as he’s nominated for his contributions to Karol G’s “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido,” Maluma’s “Cosas Pendientes,” and more. He is also up for Songwriter of the Year and Producer of the Year.
Additional notable figures with nominations include: Milton Nascimento, Shakira, Rauw Alejandro, Gloria Estefan, Carín León, Mon Laferte, Silvana Estrada, Ela Minus, Rubén Blades, Nicki Nicole, Christian Nodal, Rusowsky, Gustavo Dudamel, Grupo Frontera, and Tokischa. “We’re pleased to present this year’s nominees for the 26th Annual Latin Grammys,” Manuel Abud, the chief executive of the Latin Recording Academy, said in a press statement. “The impact of Latin music continues to grow on a global level, and all of the nominated artists encompass its diversity and richness while continuing to preserve the iconic sounds that make our music unique.”
Edgar Barrera had the most nominations at the 2024 Latin Grammy Awards, with nine, and he converted those into three victories. Karol G, who was just announced as a headliner at the 2026 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, had eight nominations, and she ended up winning Best Urban Music Album, for Mañana Será Bonito (Bichota Season). She had previously won the same award at the 2024 Grammy Awards.
