Lauryn Hill stepped out with her daughter, Selah Marley, at New York Fashion Week, marking a rare and stylish mother-daughter appearance.
Lauryn Hill made a rare appearance alongside her daughter, Selah Marley, on Sunday (September 8) at New York Fashion Week, turning heads at COS’s Autumn/Winter 2025 runway show in Brooklyn.
The Grammy-winning artist and her 26-year-old daughter arrived at the Greenpoint Terminal Warehouse dressed in sleek looks from the brand’s latest collection.
Hill, 50, wore a black wool coat layered over a leather top, cinched at the waist with a belt and paired with tailored trousers. She added a pop of color with crimson gloves and a matching red hat.
Marley, a model and creative, contrasted her mother’s dark palette with a navy blazer, bright yellow heels and a feathery clutch in the same bold hue.

The event marked a rare public outing for the famously private Hill, who shares Selah with Rohan Marley, son of reggae icon Bob Marley.
The appearance comes after a busy stretch for Hill, who performed at the 2025 Essence Festival in New Orleans in July.
That performance drew attention after starting significantly late, prompting Essence organizers to clarify that “production delays caused the late start time, not the artist.”
Hill also surprised audiences at Beardfest 2025, where she joined her son Zion Marley on stage.
Hill recently showed support for Zion’s music career on Instagram, sharing a clip from his video “Premature Paradise” and writing, “Salute to my beloved son Zion Marley — grass-roots and self-funded, pushing his music out there!! Beautiful song!”
Zion was famously the subject of Hill’s song “To Zion” from her acclaimed 1998 album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.
