Bob Bryar, the longest-running drummer of My Chemical Romance, passed away in November 2024 at age 44, and fans of the rock band are just now getting information about his death.
Over three months after Bryar’s death, an autopsy report that was obtained by TMZ revealed the state of his body when it was found. According to an article by the outlet that was published on Monday, March 3, the Bedford County Medical Examiner stated that the drummer’s body was “so badly decomposed” that it was impossible to determine what exactly caused his death.

The medical examiner noted that antidepressants were found in the home where Bryar’s remains were found. He also added that the body was next to three large canisters of nitrous oxide. The autopsy also raised concerns about a potentially “intentional or accidental” overdose, according to the outlet.
Bryar was the drummer for My Chemical Romance for six years – from 2004 to 2010 – before he left the band due to “creative differences” during the recording of Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys. The project, which was released after his departure from the band, included five songs written by the late drummer. Danger Days is the final My Chemical Romance project that Bryar was a part of before the band split up in 2013.
My Chemical Romance reunited in 2019 and are slated to headline one of the days of the Shaky Knees Music Festival in Atlanta, Georgia, which is set to take place on September 19, 20, and 21.
