Princess Beatrice‘s husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi snuck a sweet family first into the social media tribute for her birthday.

King Charles‘ niece turned 37 on Aug. 8 and her property developer husband continued tradition by shouting out the special occasion on Instagram.

“Happy Birthday to my BEAUTIFUL wife. You are the greatest. We love you so much. E,W,S,A xxxx 🩷🎂😍,” Edo, 41, wrote on Beatrice’s Aug. 8 birthday.

He also shared a photo of Princess Beatrice at Royal Ascot in June 2023, which showed her smiling with her husband by her side.

The caption of Edo’s post marked a social media first, as he signed the note from their children using their initials. While the “E” is shorthand for Edoardo, the “W,” “S” and “A” are symbols of their children’s first names.

Beatrice became a stepmother to Edo’s son Christopher Woolf, 9, when they married in July 2020, and Christopher Woolf goes by the nickname of Wolfie.

Princess Beatrice and Edo later welcomed their first child, daughter Sienna, 3, in September 2021, and the family expanded again when their second child, daughter Athena, 6 months, was born in January.

Baby Athena arrived preterm, in an experience Beatrice reflected on with candor in an essay for British Vogue. Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson‘s elder daughter wrote that the baby “arrived healthy, a few weeks before her due date,” revealing that “She was so tiny it took more than a few weeks for the tears of relief to dry and for life with our healthy baby to feel real.”

Athena recently made her surprise public debut when Beatrice and Edo brought all three children to the London homecoming parade celebrating England’s women’s national soccer team winning the UEFA EURO 2025 final on July 29, a match which Prince William and Princess Charlotte attended in Switzerland.

Edo also followed Prince William and Kate Middleton‘s lead with the sweet sign off for his latest social post by abbreviating the children’s first names with their initials to send an online message.

The Prince and Princess of Wales first featured that shorthand to sign a message from Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7, on Father’s Day in June 2024 and continued the tradition this year in the tribute from “G, C and L.”

Princess Beatrice was showered more in birthday love by her sister, Princess Eugenie, who sent well-wishes in a post of her own on Aug. 8.

“Happy happy birthday to my dearest Beabea.. my big sissy, the best in the entire world,” Princess Eugenie, 35, captioned the Instagram carousel.

The montage opened with a solo photo of Beatrice giving a soft smile and rolled to show shots of the sisters together, including a fun image of them holding sandwiches and a selfie with their mother, Sarah Ferguson.
