While full credits have not yet been released, opener “Big Poe” finds Tyler embodying the titular alter-ego alongside an as-yet-anonymous guest rapper and a sample of Busta Rhymes’ “Pass the Courvoisier Part II,” which featured P. Diddy and Pharrell Williams.
Tyler, the Creator’s rollouts for his albums have generally been pretty short, but Don’t Tap the Glass arrives with the least notice yet. Here’s a brief history, excluding the fairly traditionally promoted Goblin and Wolf: Tyler announced Cherry Bomb just a handful of days before its release, but fans got a bit more time (15 days) before he dropped Flower Boy. He trimmed that down to 11 days for Igor, but only eight days separated the announcement and release of Call Me If You Get Lost. For Chromakopia, Tyler once again let 11 days pass between announcement and the album’s release. Even with the short rollouts, Tyler always made sure to release pre-album singles, but that was not the case for Don’t Tap the Glass.
Tyler remains on tour in support of Chromakopia. He still has shows left to play in the United States, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, and the Philippines.
